Our blocks area PATH station:
A story of research and discovery
As you read in our blog post from a few weeks ago:
First came the sudden and dramatic reveal of our city's underground...
Then came the interest in what else might be down there...
Then came research...
Our common experience of subways and PATH trains started to dominate conversation...
And then came a wonderful idea:
We shared what we knew, building and unbuilding first drafts...
But we wanted to be sure! So we took a trip..
And lined up to get in...

And walked down the stairs...
And then we were there!
And so we drew...
And we drew...
...and drew!
And interviewed experts...
and made friends...
Back at school, we had a meeting to discuss all that we had seen...
Using our drawings, we built and unbuilt our second drafts...
and reflected...
and discussed...
Until finally ...
... we were ready for our final build!
So we BUILT!
And the city above started bustling, and down came the commuters, ready to ride...
And then spring even came...
And the river appeared...
And just today, the PATH cars themselves were started!
... And there is even talk of a Newport station!

The children's investment in this project and their knowledge of the Hoboken PATH station is significant, and the general display of city knowledge on the street level is amazing!
As we come to the end of our city study, what a wonderful way to celebrate, work, and play!
