...And I Just Thank You Father for Making Me, ME.

We have started to honor children in worship. 

In our first two days, we have already honored vice children in the Trees and Sky Classes. Throughout these last three weeks, each and every child in The Nest will be honored during worship. 

The way we honor children is quite simple. Each child is presented with a paper medallion. Upon the medallion is written a single character quality that your child's teacher has recognized in your child and chosen to honor. A few stories that illustrate this quality are then shared.

These are all part of the way we celebrate the gifts God has given to each child and that they, in turn, have brought to our school...

This is a time when extended family are welcome to come to worship, but it is not an expectation. Whoever is able to come is enough.

The children have even asked to have "pretend medallions" to honor each other with during activity time...

Honoring happens in one way or another all the way through the 8th grade. How remarkable is it that time is taken to focus on each and every child and celebrate them by name!

It is a way to celebrate growth and gifts in the children.

It is a way to encourage our bonds in community.

It is a small taste of the Kingdom of Heaven.

It is an honor to honor your children...

.. and it is good to celebrate.
