Upon returning from our extended break, we have thoroughly been delighting in being in one another’s company again this week. “I missed your face!” a child was overheard saying to a friend.
We have witnessed many hugs and big smiles as children have reunited with their teachers and friends once again.
“Look at all of us in a row together!” It is certainly good to be back together.
The children returned ready and excited to dig in to the work and play of preschool.
We began the week in a special way. Our Epiphany celebration took place as the Nest students were visited by wise men (aka middle school students) who traveled far distances to deliver special gifts to our classroom. It was exciting to discover just what they had given us.
The Sky Class received some special new blocks that link together in interesting ways.

The Trees Class was the recipient of a giant new dragon puzzle that required teamwork to complete!

Moving outside...The snow has provided great joy and delight for our outside play times these past few days. Friends played together.
Snow angels were created.
Children joyfully cooperated to carry a huge heavy stick (reminiscent of the giant box they played with earlier in the year).
A snowy worm cake was created.
Children happily stomped on, chipped away and sculpted large piles of snow.
The slide became a much slicker and speedier piece of playground equipment and many boisterous giggles were heard as children zoomed down and off into the mountain of snow at the bottom.
We really do feel like a community that is so happy to be with one another once again. Together, we will continue to work and play together, explore, solve problems, and take on new challenges and joys together. We wish all of you the same as we begin this new year!
