Egg Carton Counting
Get a collection of cards with numbers on them,
You can also make your own set of number cards.
Cut heavy paper or cardboard into squares or rectangles.
It's best to use thick paper so you won't be able to see through the card when you play.
I cut up a cardboard cereal box to make my cards.
Turn all the cards upside down.
Pick a card and say the number.
Get a collection of buttons or beans.
Count the number of counters that you picked on the card.
Put that many objects into the egg carton,
one counter in each space.
Take out the buttons, pick another card, and keep playing!

Make cards with numbers larger than 12 (up to 24)
and use two egg cartons.
