Make Your Own Ruler and Measure Things
Cut out a long strip from a cardboard box.
(The longer your piece, the larger the items you can measure!)
Write 0 all the way to the LEFT.
Put down 2 fingers, and then write the next number.
(If a grown-up is doing this, just use 1 finger!)
Do this until you get to the end of your cardboard.
Collect a few things from around your house.
Pick one thing and line it up on your ruler STARTING AT 0.
What number is the end of it closest to?
