Queens, Knights, and... an Armored Cat!
After building castles, the children thought about who may live in one or what they may do there.
They explored a pop-up book that went room by room.
Peek-a-Boo! What is so exciting in that castle?
They discovered that there were, among many people, kings, queens, and knights. Then the children made their own people.
There was even an idea to turn a cat into a knight!
Then they used what they made in the block area.
This week the children also started
castle observational drawings.
The first traced the big shapes with their fingers...
...then added the details.
"It looks like a candle."
A Shape Study has Commenced!
The Sky Class begun a study of shapes by experimenting with rubber bands on a geo board.
"You have to walk down there and you get in the sling shot."
"Every time I pull it, it makes a shape."
There were also pictures children made out of shapes!

The Sky Class joined the Trees Class to learn about how they will be drawing their prayers during the Lent season.
