1. Go in your room and look around.
What do you see? (A bed, a window, a dresser?)
What shapes do you see? (Squares, rectangles, circles?)
Draw the big things you see in your room
(bed, dresser, window, etc.)
**Parents: Don't worry about perspective or scale. The purpose here is mostly to observe, notice shapes and then add details.
Here is an example:
2. Take another look around your room.
What details do you see? (What is on the walls? What is on your bed?)
Add details.
3. Look one more time. Do you see patterns or designs? More shapes--maybe some tiny ones? Toys?
Add a few more details.
*Remember not to rush! Do your best slow, careful, beautiful work!
Now, take a look at your drawing and find 3 things you really like about your drawing!
